Matthew McConaughey was honoured at the Texas Medal of Arts Awards in Austin on Wednesday and made the occasion a family affair, bringing along his wife Camila Alves, mother Kay and three young children to walk the red carpet.
The 49-year-old actor and Alves rarely put their kids in the spotlight, but Livingston, 6, Vida, 9, and Levi, 10, seemed right at home posing next to their parents.

McConaughey has previously spoken about his children and their independence, as well as how he and Alves instil discipline into their parenting style.
“We mix the ‘alright, alright, alright’ into the discipline,” he joked to Savannah Guthrie on the Today show in September last year. “The main thing is that my wife and I, Camila, we have a similar moral bottom line. And as you learn, if you have kids, every day they get older, you realise how much more it’s really DNA.”
“We can nudge ’em and shepherd ’em, et cetera et cetera, but they are who they are. And right now, I’m just happy to say we have three healthy ones and they’re very much individuals,” he continued.
