Married At First Sight’s resident villain Davina Rankin has broken her silence on the wave of online abuse she suffered after her appearance on the hit show.
Rankin has been the target of national hatred, following her decision to begin an ‘affair’ with Dean Wells behind her ‘husband’ Ryan Gallagher’s back on MAFS.
In a YouTube video aptly titled ‘Breaking My Silence,’ the star opened up about her experience since the tense episodes aired.
“This is actually really hard for me to talk about so I figured my best option was to switch off and disconnect from a world I’m usually very connected to which is social media,” Rankin began.
“Social media and I have a really long relationship together and I started doing Instagram and things like that years ago so I’m no stranger to it, but copping a really large amount of hate is something that I’m really not used to and to be honest it really shook me. It’s been a really hard and traumatic experience for me.”
“I can’t begin to say how thankful I am for my amazing friends and family,” she continued, “who have reached out and told me to keep my head high.”
She continued, “It is so important I can tell you first hand to have that support and have an army behind you especially when you feel like you have nowhere else to go or things feel like you’ve hit rock bottom. I owe it to you guys to dust myself, stand up and carry on.”
Rankin then gave her followers some insight into her life over the last few weeks.
