Daniel Webb is one of the four new participants on Married At First Sight, but it seems the new groom has a troubling past. Nine News has reported that Daniel, who was partnered with Tamara Joy, is facing serious jail time.
Posting to their Facebook page, Nine News exposed their own star who has been charged with aggravated fraud, after he was charged with “scamming millions from innocent local families.”
On Friday, March 1, the Gold Coast car sales broker will stand in court, after he was accused of helping to scam up to $20 million from families.
It’s alleged that he’s helped cold call more than 600 people. The MAFS star is one of seven who’ve been charged with the alleged crime.
The Gold Coast Bulletin report, “Police allege the 35-year-old took part in manipulating vulnerable people to become ‘puppet directors’ of 12 scam companies in early 2014.”
It’s been reported that the victims were told to pay between $500 and $1000 for a four-day trial of the software, then made to sign year-long contracts.
“It is alleged former Gold Coast detective Michael Featherstone masterminded the boiler room scam, which netted between $15-20 million. Lawyers for Featherstone, who was charged with fraud alongside his wife Zoei Charissa Keong — have said they would fight the charges.”
Webb is yet to comment on the charges.
