Married At First Sight reached its most dramatic during Monday night’s episode, as Sam and Ines began their affair.
After an awkward dinner, with discussion ranging from “do you like olives” to “you look so hot”, and some red wine, the pair decide to head to Sam’s hotel room. Ines turns off the lights and closes the curtains. “I might go to the bathroom and then… I’m feeling a bit tired,” says Sam, who thinks it’s a bad idea to hook up with Ines while Elizabeth is still his wife. Sam then throws Elizabeth on the bed and we’re left waiting until tomorrow night.
Following the episode’s airing, Ines attempted to justify her behaviour, describing her connection with Sam as ’emotionally charged’.
“Everything with Sam and I was done at such a high-paced, emotionally-charged level,” she told 9Honey. “We connected on a very different level. Like we didn’t really need to speak. We could just feel each other’s emotions. He said it was a very spiritual connection, a very mental connection. As if we could read each other’s thoughts and finish each other’s sentences.”

“We did a really nice dinner on the Gold Coast. We had the top floor, and it was a beautiful setting,” she added. “During the time we were at that dinner, that really nice rooftop space, everything we were talking about was very like a substance, materialistic level. And I genuinely wanted to get to know him, like his soul.
“I was sort of expecting a more deeper conversation. I don’t know if it was because the cameras were around he didn’t want to be too vulnerable because off-camera he did open up a lot more when I spent the night with him.”
