Maisie Williams Spills Details Of The ‘Huge Cliffhanger’ Coming To Season 7 Of Game Of Thrones

Apparently it's a doozy.

As if we haven’t already had to wait long enough after Season 6 to find out what happens next in Game Of Thrones, it looks like we’re in for another major cliffhanger in Season 7. It’s just cruelty at this point!

Maisie Williams spilled the beans in an interview with Time Out, saying that at the end of Season 7, the audience can expect a ‘huge cliffhanger’.

“We’ve come to the climax and it’s rolling down to the end. It’s exciting. I really felt like at the end of last season everything was set up for how it was going to end. Every character came to a little junction in their lives. Now we’re all going to crash down together to however this show ends.”

She also mentioned that there are rumours amongst the cast that the characters who make it to Season 8 will get a tattoo to commemorate their achievement. If that’s the case, she definitely intends on getting one.

“We’re all waiting to see if we do make it. I was lucky enough to be in season one, even the pilot episode. If I do make it to season eight I will get it. It would be rude not to!”

Here’s a refresher of what’s happening in the main characters’ lives when we last left them:

Arya

She just got revenge on Walder Frey for the Red Wedding by tricking him into eating his sons and slitting his throat. Big things in store for her next season.

Cersei

Cersei just killed a whole bunch of people (including the Tyrells and the High Sparrow) with wildfire. Her son Tommen commits suicide by stepping out a window. The last thing we see is her being seated on the Iron Throne and exchanging a knowing look with her brother Jaime.

Jon Snow/Sansa

Jon banishes Melisandre AKA the Red Woman for killing Shireen afer Ser Davos exposes her. Sansa is given the main bedroom in Winterfell, hinting at leadership from her next season.

Daenerys/Tyrion

Daenerys essentially breaks up with Daario, and orders him to stay in Meereen to keep the peace. She intends to organise a strategic marriage when she gets to Westeros, and can’t bring him with her. Meanwhile, she makes Tyrion Hand of the Queen, and they set sail – it’s starting to look like she’s getting closer to the Iron Throne.
