Lauren Graham Talks The Possibility Of A Second Gilmore Girls Revival

This is NOT the news we wanted to hear

If youโ€™re a fan of Gilmore Girls, the best day of your last 10 years came when Netflix released A Year In The Life in November last year.

Since then, we have been twiddling our thumbs waiting for more information on the cliffhanger that was the last four words (seriously โ€“ is there now a Lorelai the 3rd?)

And while we have secretly been praying that the folk of Stars Hollow have been plotting a revival, Lauren Graham has been having other ideas. In a recent interview with Indiewire, Lorelai senior revealed that acting just isnโ€™t her focus right now.

โ€œJust as an experience, it was kind of perfect,โ€ Graham said of working on the revival. โ€œI always said, while we were doing it, that I couldnโ€™t see more episodes in that form. Five years from now do you have A Very Gilmore Christmas? Maybe, but thereโ€™s no reason anymore except enjoyment. And, actually, I think thereโ€™s far more risk to continue โ€” you run the risk of disappointing people.โ€

โ€œI kind of got what I wanted out of this, out of being an actor, and now Iโ€™m actually just as interested in helping somebody else have that, whether through directing or producing.โ€

As for now, Graham said that writing for her is โ€œvery new and refreshing.โ€

Whatโ€™s satisfying to me has changed, so now I like to be part of the creative process, not just get a script and go do it.โ€

And while she isnโ€™t completely ruling out a reunion in the future, it is no real surprise that Graham has turned her attention to writing. The actress has already written two books โ€“ 2012013โ€™s Someday, Someday, Maybe and 2016โ€™s Talking As Fast As I Can โ€” and sheโ€™s currently adapting The Royal We with her Parenthood co-star Mae Whitman, for which Graham will write the script.

โ€œIโ€™m just devoted to storytelling, and I donโ€™t care as much if Iโ€™m in it anymore,โ€ Graham said. โ€œIโ€™d be just as happy to write it.โ€

Clearly she learnt a lesson in overachieving from Rory.
