Gaga’s new documentary provides an honest account of her split

As well as the making of her Superbowl halftime show, the film also gives an honest account of her debilitating hip injury and breakup with fiancé Taylor Kinney.

As fans have come to expect from the Grammy award winner, she does not hold back.

“My love life has just imploded,” she says. “I sold 10 million [records] and lost Matt. I sold 30 million and lost Luke. I did a movie and lose Taylor. It’s like a turnover. This is the third time I’ve had my heart broken like this.”

Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) ended her relationship with Kinney shortly after landing a role in Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born, revealing her growing fame was factor in their split.

In one particular scene the 31-year-old confesses, “me and Taylor are fighting, so that sucks.

“My threshold for bull**** with men is just – I don’t have one anymore. In relationships, you have to move together.” This period of conflict is later revealed to be the inspiration for her song ‘Million Reasons.’

Despite calling it quits, Taylor sent her flowers on the day of the Superbowl, something Gaga is able to smile about. The couple remain great friends and speak on the phone regularly the singer reveals.

At the time of their split in July 2016, Gaga wrote on Instagram:

“Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other.”
