Kylie Minogue has spoken out about her heartbreaking split from fiance Joshua Sasse, revealing she had a “nervous breakdown” at the time.
Minogue and her 30-year-old actor boyfriend met on the set of Galavant in 2015 and dated for three years before announcing their separation.
In a candid interview with The Times, the singer said their split took a devastating toll on her mental and physical health.
“I just wanted to stop,” she said.
“I knew I needed to heal my… My physical system was compromised. I think it’s called a nervous breakdown.”
Minogue spent six days in Thailand with her girlfriends to “heal’ herself”; there, she realised her relationship with Sasse “wasn’t the right union”.
“I’ve never been that woman, that girl who dreams of walking down the aisle,” the 49-year-old explained.
“Of course I wonder what that would be like but, your destiny is your destiny and I can’t imagine, if by some miracle I got pregnant … at this point in my life, I wonder, could I even manage that?”
As EW reports, Minogue will release her fourteenth studio album, Golden, later this year.
