This was my 2nd miscarriage in around 7 months and only now do I have the courage to share this in the hopes that other woman might support one another and hopefully to encourage you to take a moment before you ask “those” questions, the ones we are all guilty of asking, like as soon as someone is married “when will you have the baby?” , then “when’s the next one?”

She continued: “After going through this, I have now realised that it’s not some box that you tick that determines how many children you will have,it’s an emotional, unpredictable journey and it’s completely out of your control. The woman next to you may have just gone through her 7th miscarriage, or perhaps she may not even be able to conceive at all. Although most people mean well, I have found that when facing those baby questions it can leave you feeling more defeated, anxious and less accomplished, as though you have failed to do something that you were apparently born to do, and of course that leads to what we all do as women- we blame ourselves for EVERYTHING!”

Krystal explained that she had blamed herself for what had happened for months.

“For months I scrutinised every single thing I did, sifting through those 12 weeks with a fine tooth comb believing it was something I did wrong. Knowing the statistics that 1 in 4 woman miscarry may or may not help but what will is having someone to talk to and by sharing you might find you are not alone and that someone close to you has also experienced what it was to imagine their little one’s face , and their tiny hands and feet and they too know that same bond you felt from the moment you found out you were pregnant,” she wrote.

“Let’s start asking less questions and just be that shoulder to cry on for one another. You will never forget that precious little angel but it does get easier in time and it certainly reminds you to count the blessings that you do have 🙏🏻”

Krystal, who rose to fame after appearing in the 2006 season of Big Brother, has lead a quiet life out of the spotlight in the last few years.

Krystal, now married to Neil Hipwell (pictured), is a mother to two-year-old son Sunny.

Krystal confessed that, after suffering a miscarriage, she felt as though she had failed as a woman.

According to the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health, one in four women are affected by miscarriages. That’s 25% of pregnancies.

What’s even more shocking however, is the ABC Health & Wellbeing statistic that highlights the 2% of of women suffering from two miscarriages in a row, while – up to 1% will have here or more miscarriages in a row. A condition known as recurrent miscarriage.

And unfortunately, according to a journal published in Medicine Today, investigations will find a cause for recurrent miscarriage in fewer than 50% of affected women.

Krystal hopes that by sharing her experience, it would help other women going through a difficult time.
