The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently embroiled in a legal battle with two British tabloids – The Sun and The Daily Mirror – after a private letter from Meghan to her father, Thomas Markle, was published.
It’s difficult to imagine what goes on behind the Kensington Palace gates but Kim Kardashian certainly knows a thing or two about handling the media spotlight.
In a new interview with The Sunday Project, the mother-of-four revealed that she “can definitely emphasise” with the royal couple.
“I’m trying to work out who is the most famous family in the world,” host Lisa Wilkinson kickstarted the conversation. “I think it sat as a toss-up between the British royals and the Kardashians…”
She added: “I’m wondering if you feel some sympathy for what Harry and Meghan are going through?”
To which Kardashian replied, “I think everyone has their own journey. I think their journey is extremely personal, with you know, what his mother experienced and how her life was so affected by the spotlight and by paparazzi.”
“I don’t think anyone can really understand what that’s like except for them,” the 39-year-old continued. “But I think as I’m older and as I have kids, what I would want for them is just the safest place.”
“I can definitely empathise with their – empathise with their need for having a secure, safe place and taking time for themselves and having privacy when they need it.”
Although she’s not the only A-lister to defend the couple’s decision to seek legal action in recent weeks, as Naomi Campbell also comprehends their struggles.
Speaking in a recent interview with The Guardian, the supermodel said: “When I heard [she was taking legal action], I was like ‘Bravo. Good for her.'”

Similarly, Campbell has also experienced her own legal run-in with the media.
The 49-year-old recently defended herself in a video statement shared on YouTube channel, Being Naomi, against what she describes as “character assassination” by the Mail On Sunday.
According to The Guardian, she was referred to as “something of a drama queen, notorious for hurling jewel-encrusted phones and raging at her staff” with “four convictions of assault to her name”.
The article in question also linked the model to sexual predators, Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein, whom she has been photographed with in the past.
“I’ve met thousands of people at events and been photographed with them – there are pictures of me with everyone,” Campbell said. “Are you going to single me out, when there are hundreds of people pictured with the same people, who you don’t care to mention?”

“Do me a f***ing favour,” she continued. “I won’t sit there and roll over and take that sh**. We all know what that’s about… I’ve seen how they treat Raheem Sterling, how they speak about Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams. I don’t know how Meghan Markle deals with this and I’m really glad she’s taken action to defend herself.”
In October, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they are seeking legal action amid growing privacy concerns.
A statement from Prince Harry read, “Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences – a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son.”
