What Kate Middleton And Meghan Markle’s Body Language At Wimbledon Says

Duchess' day out!

After attending Wimbledon solo earlier last week, the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge surprised tennis goers at the Ladies’ Singles Final over the weekend to show their support for Meghan Markle’s good friend, Serena Williams.

Despite taking all four of their children on a play date earlier this week, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle left the kids at home for a day out with Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton. The outing marked one-year since the royal sisters first stepped out together, attending the same Wimbledon game this time last year.

While Kate wore a custom green Dolce & Gabbana dress with her hair in its signature curls, Meghan opted for a white button-down shirt and a Hugo Boss Vesplisa printed georgette midi skirt with her hair pulled back in a low ponytail – a look far dressier than the blue jeans she copped flack for wearing to the tournament a few days earlier.

Kate’s stylish younger sister Pippa, who’s also a tennis regular, wore a blue and white floral dress with ruffled sleeves by Anna Mason London and had her hair pulled back off her face in a pretty braided ponytail.

The trio looked like they were enjoying the day, often taking their eyes off the court to chat between themselves. Of course, given the rumours of a royal rift between Harry and Meghan and Kate and William, many took the occasion to signify the end of the tension between the couples.

marie claire US even went as far as to ask body language expert, Blanca Cobb, what she thought and whether Kate and Meghan really are as friendly as these photos suggest. “There was no evidence of a feud at the event” and “Meghan and Kate were enjoying each other’s company,” Cobb confirmed.

Cobb also pointed out specific shots of the pair talking and saying they are clearly “enjoying the moment” with each other: “Kate is tilting her shoulder downwards as if to get closer to Meghan, which shows interest in what someone has to say. They both also have genuine smiles, as indicated by the crinkling of the eyes, that you can see their top teeth, and that their cheek muscles are pushed up.”

With that all cleared up, hopefully we’re in for a lot more cousin playdates and stylish summer outings to come.
