Last week, Kate Middleton met with BBC executives, and while they couldn’t discuss the content of the meeting at the time, it looks like the cat’s out of the bag. According to reports, Kate will appear on a Christmas cooking show with none other than British baking royalty and former co-host of The Great British Bake Off, Mary Berry.

According to Mirror, Mary Berry is doing a Christmas special on the BBC and the Duchess of Cambridge will be one of her guests of honour. Together, they will create a feast to reward charity workers who are on duty over Christmas and New Year.

“What better way to spread some Christmas cheer than to team up cookery royalty Mary Berry with real royalty in the form of Kate?” a source said to Mirror. “Between them they will bring seasonal goodwill to their guests and to the millions of viewers watching. Expect a properly uplifting Christmas treat.”

The program is reportedly being called The Mary Berry Royal Christmas Show.

The show should be interesting because in the past, Kate has joked about not being a very good cook. “William has to put up with my cooking most of the time,” she once told a group of chefs at a gala dinner. “It’s the reason I’m so skinny!” William added. However, there is one dish Kate has a bit of a reputation for: her grandmother’s chutney. Kate gave a homemade jar of the chutney to the Queen as a Christmas gift when she spent her first Christmas at Sandringham with the royal family.

Kate and Mary have become good friends over the years, bonding over their shared love of charity work. They first met in 2013 at an event for Child Bereavement UK, of which they are both patrons. Most recently, they were seen together at the launch of the Back to Nature children’s garden at RHS Wisley.
