When youโre husband is set to be the heir to the British throne, youโd no doubt expect to ring in your birthday in style. Not for Kate Middleton, however, who opted for a rather low-key affair for her 37th birthday celebrations yesterday.
Vanity Fair reports the Duchess of Cambridge chose a rather special event, a tea party at Kensington Palace with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
โKateโs not into big birthday celebrations, but George and Charlotte adore birthday cake, so there will be a special tea party at the Palace with candles and presents,โ a source told the publication.

For Prince William though, royal duty called.
The Duke of Cambridge had a morning tea with this new patronage, the Londonโs Air Ambulance charity. The Duke, a former air ambulance pilot himself, was recently named a patron of the charityโs 30th anniversary campaign.
But, Wills did manage to sneak in a tiny reference to his wife.
When he was presented with a card for his wife during his visit today, he replied, โWell done for remembering,โ then added, โI did remember this morning, so that was okay!โ according to People.
The response prompted the room to giggle.

Kateโs last big birthday celebration was over six years ago, when the Duchess turned 31.
The royal went out with William, her parents, and her brother and sister to see a Cirque de Soleil show at the Royal Albert Hall. Kate was pregnant with Prince George then.
But since Georgeโs birth, Kate has celebrated her birthday privately in the comfort of her home.
A source told E! News that last year Kate spent her 36th birthday โprivately with William and the children. Itโs just a quiet celebration at home. No big party.โ
