Aussie actress Jessica Marais has confirmed she had withdrawn from her latest project, Channel Nine’s upcoming drama, Bad Mothers, to focus on her health and spend time with her family.
The 33-year-old actress and mother-of-one’s management released a statement:
“Jessica has decided to step away from acting for the remainder of 2018 to focus on her health and spend time with her family.
“She is disappointed that she will not be a part of the Bad Mothers production with such an incredible cast and team behind it, but knows that it is important to take time out to maintain ongoing balance and wellbeing.”
The statement addresses her involvement with Bad Mothers, but still no work on whether her other show Channel 10’s The Wrong Girl, has been renewed for a third season.
Bad Mothers is scheduled to air in 2019 and also stars Mandy McElhinney, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Jessica Tovey.
Marais has been open about her struggles with mental health in the past and her experience with bipolar disorder and sat out this year’s Logie Awards to focus on her health despite taking home the Silver Logie for Best Actress.
