Over the weekend, a trio of powerhouse women we all know, and love made our dreams come true, confirming their friendship in the best way – by heading out for a night out. Jennifer Lawrence, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Amy Schumer enjoyed each other’s company in New York City after watching the theatrical concert, American Utopia.
On Friday, Schumer shared a picture on Instagram of herself with Waller-Bridge, Lawrence and Talking Heads musician, David Byrne at a bar called Jimmy’s Corner, a boxing-themed dive bar just a two-minute walk from Times Square.
The iconic image sees a blurry JLaw relaxing with her arms around her two friends, Waller-Bridge enjoying a beer and a smiley Byrne photobombing in the background. Many of Schumer’s followers were eager to ask whether the Emmy winners and Oscar winner were teaming up for a project sometime soon – not a far stretch considering Waller-Bridge has announced she is done with Fleabag. Unfortunately, much to our dismay, Schumer quickly debunked the rumours with her reply: “Nope. Just drinking mama”.
The trio’s reunion is one of the first times that Lawrence has been spotted since her October wedding to gallery owner Cooke Maroney. While Maroney was not present for the evening’s shenanigans, other celebrities including comedian Jerry Seinfeld, author Jessica Seinfeld, television host Seth Meyers and Schumer’s husband, chef Chris Fischer were present.
We can only hope that sometime in the near future, this ‘Dream Team’ will grace our screens with their wit, power, talent and incredible humour. Until then, we’ll have to hold on to the image of Lawrence, Waller-Bridge and Schumer doing what all good girl gangs do best.
