Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux just reminded us that they have the best post-breakup friendship in Hollywood after sharing a social media moment our ex could only hope for.

The former couple are famed for their love of animals and Theroux took to Instagram yesterday to raise awareness of rescue dogs in need of a home at Venture Animal Services in Los Angeles.
After a day spent meeting some of the puppies, he shared a couple of photographs alongside a caption inspiring fans to consider adoption.
“Uma had a rough day… We were working in Ventura and wouldn’t you know it? We just HAPPENED to be RIGHT NEXT to @vcanimalservices. Kuma had a feeling there might be some amazing puppies in there SO, we went over to meet some of them… and the human SAINTS that take care of them,” he wrote.
“We met SOME SERIOUSLY CUTE PUPS…. Like ZUMO, SHOTTI … A puppy that doesn’t even HAVE name yet… AND… a very scared STELLA that was too scared to even say hi to us. (all pictured here)… KUMA used to be JUST like them… without a forever home. SO!!! She DEMANDED that we do something! At the very least, she made sure it was easy to adopt them….ALL of their adoption fees have been paid… Now ALL they need is an amazing Human who is committed to taking care of them. It sounds like a lot, but you’ll soon see… once rescued, they take care of you. So if you’re in the Ventura area… ZUMO, SHOTTI, NO NAME, and STELLA would love a visit… and of course… more than anything, would love to take care of you.”
He then tagged fellow animal lover, Selena Gomez, alongside a note which reads: “You know the drill”.
But it was his decision to also include former wife, Jennifer Aniston, in the post which tugged at the heartstrings of fans.
“Yep, now that you’re on here, your gonna get this a lot too,” he joked in reference to Aniston finally joining Instagram last month – and soon amassing over 18.7 million followers.
True fans of Theroux and Aniston will understand that the post bears a special meaning for them both after their beloved German Shepherd, Dolly, sadly passed away in July.
Though it’s not the first time the former couple have demonstrated their newfound post-breakup relationship after Aniston made sure her ex followed her on Instagram.

“She actually texted me,” Theroux revealed. “She said, ‘You haven’t followed me’, and I said, ‘Of course I followed you!’ And she’s like, ‘No, you haven’t!’ I realised I was one of the people caught in the glitch…. [She] literally broke Instagram. People were having trouble being recognised as following.”
The couple started dating in May 2011 and headed down the aisle in 2015 before calling it quits in 2017.
“It was heartbreaking,” Theroux said of the split, “Only in the sense that the friendship would not be the same, as far as just the day-to-day. But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we’re both very proud of.”
