Amanda Seyfried’s Advice When Working With Your Ex

Set up some boundaries…

Working with your ex may not be the most comfortable situation for most of us, but Amanda Seyfried had some fairly sound advice for those unlucky enough to be in such a situation.

Speaking to Elle Magazine, about her upcoming film Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, Seyfried talked about the delicate situation of working with your ex.

“The number one, most important thing is setting boundaries,” she said. “You can’t call each other by the pet names you have for them.”

Seyfried and Dominic Cooper met 10 years ago on the set of Mamma Mia, playing lovers Sophie and Sky. The pair then began a romance off-screen, calling it quits 3 years later.

Amanda, who is now married and has a child with Thomas Sadoski, and Cooper, who just recently broke up with girlfriend of 8 years Ruth Negga, are now reprising their roles as Sophie and Sky, who are married in the sequel.

While working with your ex would be a nightmare for most, Seyfried revealed that her and Cooper are on good terms.

“It can be hard but you have to step back and be professional. Dominic and I have such a good relationship that it was easy…”

While it’s lucky the pair are still friendly, Seyfried jokingly gave some advice to those less-than-friendly exes: “But if you don’t like your ex, just try to get them fired”.

Let’s hope we don’t have to put this advice into action anytime soon.
