Hillary Clinton Says ‘I Will Be The Nominee’ Of The Democrat Party

She has attained an overwhelming lead against Bernie Sanders

Hillary Clinton has come out for the first time in her campaign for the US elections saying that she will definitely be the nominee of the Democrat party. She revealed her thoughts in an interview with CNN on Thursday.

“I will be the nominee for my party … That is already done, in effect. There is no way that I won’t be,” said Clinton. She described her lead as ‘insurmountable’.

This comes after she has faced fierce competition from Bernie Sanders, her main contender. Bernie Sanders and his team are still confident that they can win the race, with Indiana, West Virginia and Oregon all disagreeing with Clinton in the past few weeks. Bernie’s campaign spokesman, Michael Briggs spoke out against Hillary’s claims.

“We expect voters in the remaining eight contests also will disagree. And with almost every national and state poll showing Senator Sanders doing much, much better than Secretary Clinton against Donald Trump, it is clear that millions of Americans have growing doubts about the Clinton campaign.”

Currently, Hillary Clinton has a strong lead, with 1,768 pledged delegates, while Bernie Sanders has some catching up to do, with 1,494 delegates – one of them must get 2,383 in total to win the nomination. While it has been suggested to Sanders that he should drop out of the race now, he has guaranteed that he will be in it ‘until the last ballot is cast’.
