The fashion designer and mother-of-two has avoided all public events since the scandal started making headlines, People reports, but now one of Chapman’s closest friends has spoken out about her emotional state.

Alyssa Milano, who met Chapman on the Weinstein-produced Project Runway All Stars five years ago, revealed to Today that her friend “goes through very dark times.”

“She’s very sad,” Milano said. “This is not easy for her, but I have no doubt that not only will she come out on the other side of this, but she deserves too.”
