In Hailey Baldwin’s first interview since her 24-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter boyfriend, Justin Bieber, popped the question in July this year, the 21-year-old model gushed about the engagement saying she’s “beyond excited”.
Bieber put a (huge) ring on it when the couple were on holiday in tropical island paradise, the Bahamas, after a whirlwind romance of just a few weeks.
However, the 21-year-old model and Sorry singer have known each other for years and previously dated very briefly back in January 2016, when Bieber posted an image of them kissing on Instagram. They also attend the same church and have many mutual friends.
But, that hasn’t stopped the internet from trolling the couple about their upcoming nuptials, posting negative comments on everything from the speed of the engagement to whether they’re mature enough to make such a big commitment and whether it’s just a publicity stunt. Unfortunately, the couple have provided haters with plenty of fuel for their online fire by doing things like riding push bikes around while crying and constant PDAs everywhere they go.
Baldwin, however, is not letting any of those trolls rain on her happy engagement parade saying in the interview with Stellar, “I don’t think it’s affected me really. I have learned to just try my best to ignore the negativity at this time so that I can enjoy this season of my life.”
Which is good news, as this “season” of her life – the engagement – could last quite a while with no official wedding date set yet and insiders reporting they have pumped the brakes on their wedding plans. People quotes a source as saying, “It was getting quite intense and they realised they want to enjoy being engaged for a while…It’s not like they need to rush – they are both so young.”
