Last week it was reported that Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber had tied the knot in a civil ceremony at a courthouse in New York City. While multiple sources confirmed the news it seems that might not be the case after all with Hailey Baldwin posting a cryptic tweet in response to the rumours…
“I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!” the 21-year-old model wrote on Twitter according to People – however the post has now been deleted.
Which leaves us scratching our heads.
According to People, a source says Baldwin “feels a civil ceremony and their ‘real’ wedding are two separate things.”
“What happened at the courthouse is a courthouse thing — a legal thing,” added another source. “But marriage is two people making a vow before God and the people they love.”
TMZ reported that the couple visited the Marriage Bureau where the Sorry singer was overheard saying, “I can’t wait to marry you, baby.”
Hailey recently opened up to The Cut about how her parents, Stephan and Kennya Baldwin, feel about her decision to get married at 21-years-old. “I said to them [my parents], ‘You’d stop me if you didn’t think this was the right decision, right? And they didn’t. I think they love him more than me!”
“I see no reason to wait,” she added. “When you know it’s right, it’s right.”
