The 2018 Golden Globe Nominations have arrived, and itโs a real mixed bag! Fans of the illustrious awards ceremony have been left somewhat underwhelmed following a series of disappointments in certain categories.

Greta Gerwig (Ladybird), Jordan Peele (Get Out), Dees Rees (Mudbound)and Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) were all left off the Best Director nominations list, despite the fact that their films were critical and financial success stories in 2017. Wonder Womandidnโt even score a single nomination, while the otherโs did in categories for acting.
Meanwhile, TiffanyHadishโspraised comedic performance in Girls Tripfailed to score a nomination, and Kumail Nanjinaiโs comedy The Big Sickwas left off the list too, despite becoming one of the highest-grossing indie films of the year.
However, itโs not all bad news. Australian actress Margot Robbie has scored a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture โ Musical or Comedy for her role inI, Tonya, Nicole Kidman received a nod for her epic performance in Big Little Lies, and James Franco has landed a nomination for his hilarious role in The Disaster Artist.
