‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Says He Loved Getting To “Rape Beautiful Women” On The Show

The clip from 2011 has resurfaced

Just in case the past week’s sexual harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein and Ben Affleck weren’t enough, here’s a Game of Thrones actor joking about raping women.

The clip from 2011 shows the cast, including Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington, answering questions at a Comic-con convention.

When asked about his favourite parts of acting on GoT, Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo, replied that he loves being able to “get away” with “raping beautiful women”.

“As far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that there’s so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it… and rape beautiful women,” he says.

The audience laughs while many of the GoT stars beside him hide their heads and smile awkwardly.

Though it pays to note that the comment was made tongue in cheek, and Momoa has since apologised for the “insensitivity of my remarks,” isn’t it past time we stopped joking about sexual assault?

Taking to Instagram this morning, the actor acknowledged his “distasteful joke” and apologised.
