Fears For Queen Elizabeth Shut Down As Emergency Services Rush To The Palace

A royal spokesperson has released a statement

The Queensโ€™ Scottish residence has been put on lockdown after a โ€œsuspicious letterโ€ containing white powder was received.

Six fire engines, as well as paramedics and police officers, rushed to the after reports of an emergency security breach at the monarchโ€™s official residence in Edinburgh, the Mirror reports.

A Police Scotland spokesperson has since confirmed that, though theyโ€™re still investigating the incident, the letter poses no threat to the general public.

โ€œAn investigation is now underway to identify the sender and establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident,โ€ reads a statement obtained by the BBC.

Itโ€™s believed that Queen Elizabeth was at her London home of Buckingham Palace when letter was received.

Although the Royals regularly receive โ€˜hate mail,โ€™ authorities have been put on high alert in the wake of the recent terror attacks in Manchester and London.
