The singer, who is due to perform in Australia early next year, announced that shows in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong will not go ahead, and the rest of his tour is uncertain.

“A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future. Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong,” the statement read.

“I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that. Please stay tuned for more details.”

It was also revealed that Sheeran was not the one who typed the message as both of his arms are in casts.

Sheeran’s announcement comes after he was hit by a car whilst riding his bike through London.

The ‘Perfect’ singer is due to perform 12 shows across Australia in March 2018 and Frontier Touring has just released a statement saying they are hopeful those tour dates will go ahead.

“As the Australia and New Zealand leg of Ed Sheeran’s tour does not commence until March 2018, we have no reason to believe that the shows here will be affected,” the statement from Frontier Touring read.

“We’re sure by March Ed will be fighting fit and incredibly excited about having the use of both his arms again. Rest up Ed – no more bicycles for you!”
