Dove’s latest campaign, #AlternativeFacts, takes inspiration from Trump’s adviser Kellyanne Conway who coined the notorious phrase.

When the Trump administration claimed that more people had attended Trump’s inauguration than that of Barack Obama, she defended the lie exaggeration as “alternative facts”.

Soon after, the hashtag #alternativefacts began trending.

Now, Dove has joined in the fun, listing an outlandish raft of claims relating to its new antiperspirant. For example the Dove ads, claim to boost your Wi-Fi signal and  help you plan your next holiday at a competitive rate.

Dove is just one of the many companies who has publicly spoken out against Trump. Several major companies such as Apple, Starbucks, Nike, Air BnB has all spoken out against Trump and his executive order to ban immigrants from Muslim populated nations. The controversial ban has prompted large corporations to take a political stance and ackowledge that most of these companies were founded by immigrants and have immigrant employees.

CEO of Mastercard, Ajay Banga, has expressed his concerns for his employees and told The Wall Street Journal that MasterCard will help anyone who is affected by the ban and will help their families. Banga, who was born in India, said, “What affects one of us, affects all of us.”
