In case you somehow missed it, Kate Middleton and Prince William gave birth to their third child last night (11:01am London time).
Naturally, the world went into royal baby meltdown mode as press stationed themselves outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital waiting for the first glimpse of the newborn.
But when the doors to the maternity ward first opened, it wasn’t the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who walked out. Rather, another unsuspecting British couple, who gave birth at the same time as Kate, heading home with their new baby.
Instead of merely deciding the moment was a false alarm, the press and royal bystanders clapped and cheered for the couple with many taking to Twitter to comment on the hilarious moment.
Of course, Kate and Wills eventually did leave the hospital revealing their sleeping newborn boy.
Proud dad William told the waiting media, “we’re very happy” before joking the parents now have “thrice the worry.”
A name for the new prince is yet to be revealed.
