A woman who was on her way to work at the Little Diamonds childcare centre in Hermon Hill, London, was attacked and stabbed by three women.
Karrien Stevens, who runs the centre confirmed the attack, saying her staff member was only saved when a man came to her rescue and the attackers fled, the Ilford Recorder reports.
“It’s terrible, I’m absolutely horrified,” Ms Stevens said. “You don’t expect something like this to happen on your doorstep.”
Another colleague of the victim said the women who attacked her had been chanting “Allah will get you,” the Telegraph reports.
“They pulled her to the ground, punched her, kicked her. One of them pulled out a knife and cut her arm from her wrist to her elbow,” she said.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said, “We were called at 9.36am to reports of a stabbing in Hermon Hill.
“Officers responding to the scene discovered a woman in her 30s who had suffered slash wounds. Her injuries are not life-threatening but she has been taken to hospital as a precaution.”
“The three suspects fled the scene before police officers arrived and they are still not accounted for.”
The incident comes less than a week after the London Bridge terror attack, in which men drove a white van into pedestrians before leaving the car and stabbing people at random.
