Dust off your copy of The Book of Shadows and grab those low-rise jeans; Charmed is coming back to your television screen.
In the tradition of the Will & Grace, Heathers and Sabrina The Teenage Witch reboots, Charmed is being reincarnated for today’s TV audience with a modern spin by the CW Network.
The series comes from Jane the Virgin executive producer Jennie Urman, while Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin will be writing the pilot script.
And now, the CW has finally finished casting the three actresses playing the new Charmed ones, EW reports.
Madeleine Mantock, known from her roles on The Tomorrow People and Into the Badlands will play older sister Macy, a geneticist who is shocked to discover she’s a witch.
Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station) will play middle sister, activist Mel, while Sarah Jeffery (Descendants) has been cast as the youngest sister, college freshman Madison.
“This fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centres on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches,” the CW show description reads.
“Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.”
Wicked.
