Cate Blanchett has debuted an unusual new look in the upcoming Marvel film Thor: Ragnarok.
The Aussie actress is playing the villain Hela, the Goddess of Death, in the movie. She’s ditched her usual blonde locks for a more goth appearance, wearing a black cat-suit, a dark wig and heavy makeup.

With roles like the evil stepmother in Cinderella, and Galadriel in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, we’re sure Blanchett is going to make one seriously bad-ass villain.
Even Chris Hemsworth had quite the makeover. Instead of his long hair as Thor, he’s opted for a shorter, more natural look.
Hemsworth told Entertainment Weekly, “It was nice not to have to sit in the makeup chair for that hour each morning.”
He added, “It felt like a rebirth for me as the actor but also as the character.”
Thor: Ragnarok is expected to hit Australian cinemas in October 2017.
