Britain Is Set To Welcome Its Second Female Prime Minister Of All Time

Bring it on!

The Conservative Party in Britain has narrowed down its choice of Prime Minister to two women: Theresa May (pictured left above) and Andrea Leadstom (pictured right). This means that one of them will make history as the second female prime minister in Britainโ€™s history, and the first female PM since Margaret Thatcher.

The news follows David Cameron announcing his retirement after Britain chose to leave the European Union.

Theresa May is currently the home secretary and Andrea Leadsom is the junior energy minister. They will contest for the position of Prime Minister in September.

At the moment, Ms May is the favourite for the role, and though she was opposed to leaving the European Union, she says sheโ€™s ready to find the best possible solution to the outcome. Ms Leadstom was strong in her support of leaving the EU, and though her resume isnโ€™t quite as strong as Ms Mayโ€™s in politics, it looks like she will be a formidable contender.

Either way, a female leader is coming Britainโ€™s way!
