You’ve heard of the post wedding blues. But have you heard the one about the bride suffering from shock after discovering that her new husband is actually her biological grandfather?
A 24-year-old woman walked down the aisle into the arms of her 68-year-old lover, yet three months in was left shocked by revelations that she was closely related to him.
The newlyweds made the discovery while looking at one of the his photo albums, after the young woman realised her new husband’s estranged son was her father.
The groom became estranged from his children after his wife from his first marriage moved away, taking the kids with her.
Despite winning “several million dollars” in a lottery jackpot and moving from his apartment into a waterfront Miami property, he claims he became lonely and started looking for love online in 2015.
“They had a website with profiles of many attractive younger girls,” he told the Florida Post. “I just felt something strange when I saw her photos. “It was like a sense of deja vu, but at the time I couldn’t figure out why she seemed so familiar.”
The young woman had been living in Jacksonville, Florida, for several years working as an exotic dancer to support her child and herself. With bills and a desire to provide for her child, she signed up for the website where she met her boyfriend/grandfather.
The newlyweds have declared they will not be divorcing and are committing to a successful marriage.
“If we’d never found out, we would’ve lived our lives happily together, and us being related shouldn’t change that,” the man said.
“I feel our bond is so strong that even something like this is not enough to make us give up,” the woman added.
