Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are set to perform at the 2019 Oscars next week, performing a duet from their film A Star Is Born. Unfortunately, Cooper has revealed he won’t be performing as his character Jackson Maine.
In an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Cooper has revealed that having watched back his Las Vegas duet with Lady Gaga, he was less-than-impressed with his own performance. Cooper explained, “that guy certainly isn’t a rock star.”
The actor also revealed that his character from A Star Is Born, country singer Jack, appears to have disappeared altogether. He told Colbert, “I watched the video back…and I just sort of look like this idiot from Philadelphia singing with Lady Gaga…but I was like, ‘Oh, Jackson’s gone.'”
“He’s gone. I’m not gonna try to get him back. But it will be me singing,” Cooper added.

Cooper also recently told E! News that he was “terrified” about performing live onstage with Lady Gaga at the Oscars.
It’s not going to be the first time the duo perform as Gaga and Cooper, though. The pair took their chemistry off the big screen and on stage in Las Vegas earlier this month. During her Enigma residency show the Park MCM, Gaga invited her A Star Is Born costar to join her for a surprise performance of their Oscar-nominated song ‘Shallow.’
“So a really good friend of mine…I don’t know if you know him but his name is Bradley. He made that movie A Star Is Born,” Gaga said to the crowd. “So I’m gonna be a little chance-y. Yo Bradley, you wanna come up and do this one?”
Luckily, someone filmed the whole situation go down on camera and posted it to social media. In the video, Cooper gazes into Gaga’s eyes as she starts to play the piano, and rests his hand on her arm, before later sitting down with his arm wrapped around her.
