Blake Lively has revealed her own terrifying story of sexual harassment following on from the slew of allegations from stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie and Cara Delevingne against film producer Harvey Weinstein.
Though Blake said she was never harassed by Weinstein, she revealed that she had a “terrifying” experience with a male makeup artist, whom she declined to name.
“He was saying things inappropriately, insisting on putting my lipstick on with his finger,” she told the Los Angeles Times.
“I was sleeping one night on location and I woke up and he was filming me. I was clothed, but it was a very voyeuristic, terrifying thing to do.”
Lively reported the man to producers, but she said they did nothing. Finally, they asked for a meeting and Blake was sure it was to address the issue, instead, they told her off about her dog.
“I thought, ‘Well finally, they’re going to do something about this man who I had to have touching me all day,’ she said. “And they said, ‘Your dog left a poop behind the toilet in your dressing room and our janitor had to pick it up. And this is very serious and we can’t have this happen again.’”
Blake took the case to her lawyer and the makeup artist was finally dismissed from the project, but with a recommendation letter in hand – “nobody wanted there to be bad blood.”
Blake’s scary story comes after a New York Times expose revealed decades of sexual harassment and assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein. Since the article, many more famous actresses have come forward to reveal they too were harassed by the producer.
