The announcement that Meryl Streep was joining the Big Little Lies cast had fans (us included) in an absolute tizzy.
And now, the BBL team has announced yet another new actor is on board for the second season with a major role.
As Deadline reports, actor Douglas Smith will play an off-beat surfer and aspiring marine biologist, Corey Brockfield, who works with Shailene Woodley’s character Jane. Smith was most recently seen on Netflix’s cult crime series The Alienist, and known for his work on Big Love.
Liane Moriarty, who wrote the original novel Big Little Lies, is also involved with the second season, which is partially based on a story by the Australian author.
HBO said in a statement that season 2 would explore the “malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode … the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom.”
Let the countdown until season two begin. See you on the couch!
