Almost a year after Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck filed for divorce, it seems the Batman star is hoping for a second third fourth another chance at patching up their marriage.
A friend close to the pair has told US Weekly that Affleck has “begged her to come back several times, but she has no interest”.
The revelation comes after reports that Garner tried to mend their marriage for nearly two years after they initially announced their separation in 2015.
“She put her heart and soul into fixing the relationship and wanted so desperately to turn things around for the children’s sake as well as theirs,” the “pal” said. “She forgave him for so much, and still he couldn’t change.”
Affleck, 45, checked into rehab in 2017, where he received treatment for alcohol addiction. He released a statement on Facebook explaining his struggles with addiction and thanking Garner for her support.
“I’m lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I’ve done the work I set out to do,” the Good Will Hunting star posted.
“This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery.”
Affleck is currently dating Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus; the pair went public with their romance in July 2017.
