It was inevitable really. First there was a Lifetime movie (Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance), then there was a Netflix biopic, ahem, Christmas rom-com (The Princess Switch), and now, a musical.
The BBC has announced that a toe-tapping comedy inspired by the Duchess of Sussex will air on Radio 4 on January 1. Sadly it’s not coming to the stage – so we can’t expect any show-stopping wedding numbers, or to see Prince Charles partaking in a tap dance – but a Rodgers & Hammerstein-style soundtrack is apparently in the works.

Titled The Sixth In Line To Be The King and I, the radio musical will chronicle Markle’s life pre and post the royal wedding, with comedian Pippa Evans playing the lead.
Our only concern: where can we tune in?
