Remember a few months ago when we were all laughing away at the fact that Balenciaga released an IKEA bag?
And the fact that they were charging a cool $2847 AUD for said IKEA bag?
Well, it turns out that the joke is on us because the French fashion house clearly sold enough of the big, blue totes to warrant creating yet another ridiculously expensive fashion item.
This time around, the bag is directly modelled after the one you get for free with a purchase, but instead of paper, the made-in-Italy tote is 100 percent calf-skin leather.
It comes complete with black Nappa leather handles and silver metal hardware and retails at a cool $2,365.
While social media has swiftly been sent into meltdown mode yet again – “Balenciaga is trolling us all” – the brand must be doing something right because the white version of the above shopping bag sold out almost instantly.
Fashun, amiright?!
