Asher Keddie Won’t Rule Out More Children

“Having a family has made me feel braver”

Two years after welcoming her son Valentino with artist husband Vincent Fantauzzo, Asher Keddie has revealed how motherhood has changed her.

In the August issue of marie claire (out Thursday), the Offspring actress says, “My priorities [and] my sensitivities have changed. For some reason I feel more flexible now about how things should or shouldn’t be. I was more black and white before I had kids.”

Since having “Vallie”, Keddie, 42, says she’s streamlined other aspects of her life. Exercise is “literally running after the boys [Valentino and step son Luca, seven].” And as for her so-called mum-uniform, she says, “I have 10 pairs of these jeans in different colours, and I’ve worn the same Isabel Marant boots for seven years. I’ve looked the same forever and ever.”

Unlike her daily outfit deliberation, the question of whether Keddie and Fantauzzo would like more children is harder for her to answer.

“We are definitely ‘never say never’ people. But I feel at the moment – and it might change tomorrow – I’m so grateful for the two children we have. The unit is beautiful and feels complete in a way, but I don’t want to shut that door quite yet,” she admits.

The August issue of marie claire starring Asher Keddie is on sale Thursday.
