Despite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announcing they were keeping the identity of Archie Harrison‘s godparents private ahead of his christening, which took place on Saturday at Windsor Castle, it looks like we already know one person who Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tapped for the important job.
According to The Sunday Times, Prince Harry chose his good friend Charlie van Straubenzee to be Archie’s godfather, a man he’s been friends with for decades after the pair met at primary school.
If Charlie’s name sounds familiar, it’s because the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended his wedding to Daisy Jenks last August, despite the nupitals falling on Meghan’s birthday.
Charlie and Daily were also present at the royal wedding last May and Charlie’s brother, Thomas van Staubenzee, is one of Princess Charlotte’s five godparents.
Of course, if Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are anything to go by, baby Archie probably has a bunch of godmothers and godfathers. When it comes to the rest, all we can do is speculate (with the help of this comprehensive list).
