While we wish nothing but the best for Grammy award-winning singer Adele, it’s no secret that her previous experiences with heartache have been the inspiration behind many of her songs, and damn, those heartbreak ballads are SO good that we can’t help but think her upcoming album will be her best yet, following her separation from husband Simon Konecki earlier this year.
“She is definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music. It seems it will happen later this year,” a source close to Adele told People. “She talks about last year as a very difficult year, and she’s said in the past that creating new music is almost like therapy. You can tell that she is ready to share with her fans.”
However, it sounds like this album will be a little different than expected. Sources claim she has written an ‘upbeat’ song about her split. A music industry insider told The Sun UK, “The song is upbeat and is all about Adele’s relationship with her ex-husband Simon. But it’s optimistic, reflective of the good times and about learning to move on from them and make new memories by yourself.”
Simon and Adele separated in April 2019 after three years of marriage, and Adele officially filed for divorce from Simon last week.
Reportedly in a good place, Adele and Simon still spend time together co-parenting their six-year-old son Angelo, and Adele splits her time between the UK and Los Angeles.
“Adele loves Los Angeles and lives a great life with her son,” says the source. “She likes to keep her life private for both her and her son and is able to do that in L.A. She co-parents with Simon, and they seem to get along and spend time together with Angelo as well.”
She also has a great support network around her. “She surrounds herself with loyal girlfriends who are as private as she is. She has the best personality and is very warm and generous,” says the source. A UK industry source also adds, “She’s perky as hell!”
“It has been cathartic for her to put her feelings into her music. Fans can expect to hear personal details on her album,” The Sun UK source revealed.
“All being well, the song should be out in November but she is still working on everything.”
