Police are negotiating with a man in Sydney’s north shore after the body of a woman in her mid-20s was discovered in the same area.
According to The Daily Telegraph, a pedestrian found the body in an alley near Chatswood train station on Monday morning at about 6.30am. It is believed the woman fell from a building and that her injuries are consistent with falling from a height.
Officers are speaking with a man who is kneeling on an awning above a balcony of the high rise apartment that borders the alley
As The Sydney Morning Herald reports, police have not commented if the dead woman is the partner of the man on the balcony.
A passer-by said the tense situation was devastating to watch unfold.
“It sort of makes you feel a little bit sick. It’s heartbreaking,” he said.
More to come.
