When photos emerged of Tom Cruise and Shakira spending some time together at Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix, we all wondered whether we might have a new couple on our hands.
While Page Six reported that Tom Cruise was interested in pursuing Shakira, a separate source told US Weekly that the feelings were not mutual.
“Shakira had a great time hanging out with Tom at F1 but she has no interest in dating him,” the source told the outlet. “He was really nice, and she enjoyed his company, but she isn’t focused on dating him or anybody else at the moment. She has a lot on her plate and is focused on her kids and career for now.”
The source also revealed that Shakira had read the report about Cruise’s being interested in her,
“Shakira has seen the online rumors that Tom has been courting her—and how fans are chiming in with their opinions—but she thinks it’s hilarious because it’s just not true,” the source said. “She had a fun time when they chatted, but that’s as far as things have gone.”
Shakira split from her long term partner Gerard Piqué in June 2022. The former couple were together for 11 years and share two children, Milan (9) and Sasha (7).
Cruise has had a number of high-profile relationships, including with Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes, whom he shares a daughter with. Cruise was last romantically linked to Hayley Atwell, who he worked with on Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning with but the pair never publicly confirmed their romance.
