If you’re like us and binge-watched the spine-chilling Netflix series Mindhunter in just one weekend, we have another crime drama to add to your streaming queue. The Sinner is a gripping eight-episode series about a young mother (Jessica Biel) who inexplicably stabs a stranger to death at the beach.
According to critics, the show is less of a ‘whodunnit’ and more of a ‘whydunnit’, interrogating what compelled Biel’s character to commit the horrific attack. Bill Pullman plays the detective tasked with unlocking her motivations. Why are her memories missing? Did she know the victim?
The series is based on the best-selling novel by German author Petra Hammesfahr, and set in upstate New York.
