It’s no secret that Kate Middleton draws a lot of style inspiration from Princess Diana.
On several occasions, the Duchess of Cambridge has honoured her mother-in-law’s memory by emulating her accessory choices, and has even borrowed her jewellery on special occasions.
But the below shoes are by far the most casual – and affordable – item she’s copied.
In the late ’90s Princess Diana flew into war-torn Angola on a Red Cross mission. For her press statement she wore a classic navy double-breasted blazer, light-wash jeans, and Superga sneakers.
Kate prefers the more versatile white colour and she often chooses them for outdoor events like the London Marathon and royal tours. And she’s not the only one. White Supergas are also a top street style pick for Hollywood royalty Emma Watson.
Both Kate and Diana wore their sneakers with denim but Kate, pictured in April, modernized the look with dark wash skinny jeans.
In May 2019, she wore them with culottes and a simple white shirt, perfect for visiting the Chelsea Garden show — an outing which included tree climbling and foraging.
Unlike Cinderella’s slippers, these ultra-comfortable, ultra-affordable ($85) princess shoes are a perfect fit for everyone.
