Dust off your power suits for the last time, because hit series Succession is returning for a fourth and final season.
Creator and showrunner Jesse Armstrong revealed that the upcoming fourth season will indeed be its final run on HBO, telling The New Yorker that “there’s a promise in the title of Succession”.
“I’ve never thought this could go on forever. The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From season two, I’ve been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?” Jesse added.
If you haven’t already binge-watched your way through the first seasons of the show – available on Foxtel – it’s a bitingly funny and intense look at power and family dynamics through the fictional Roy family who strike an astounding resemblance to the Murdoch empire.

What will Succession season 4 be about?
Season three saw resident sad boy, Kendall Roy, take on his dad and fail in epic proportions, a defeat which lead to a perplexing and down-right depressing pool scene that had fans questioning his mortality. Spoiler alert: he was okay (physically, that is).
Kendall’s subsequent breakdown in the season three finale led to a scene we never thought we’d see. The Roy siblings, well, the three that count (Kendall, Shiv and Roman), united to stop their tyrannical father from selling Waystar Royco to Lukas Matsson (played by Alexander Skarsgard).
Of course, they were frustratingly defeated by Logan, due to what may be the show’s most shocking betrayal yet. You can read a full recount of the finale, here.
As for season four, we’ll see the sale move ever so closer, with the synopsis teasing: “The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete.”
“A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.”
What is the release date for Succession season 4?
In line with the new teaser which has set our tastebuds for the family drama alight, it has been confirmed Succession season four will premiere on Foxtel on March 27th.
Is there a trailer for Succession season 4?
You bet there is and, after an agonising wait for fans, it hasn’t disappointed.
Following the unification of the three main (sorry, Connor) Roy siblings in the season three finale, we see them coming together as a united front against their tyrannical father, Logan—and it is JUICY.
It looks as though a family war is brewing and there’s sure to be casualties… Watch the full trailer below.
