New York fashion week is one of the most interesting fashion weeks of them all. Known for discovering new brands and cementing heritage ones, the week-long celebration of all things fashion is more than just what’s on the runways.
As always, attendees of the front row, models and designers make their way to a slew of shows, donning their best of the current season as they embark on watching the future. The streets outside said shows are therefore by far the best places to watch a trend unfold; as tastemakers from around the world cement a piece, a silhouette or designer as the next big thing.
This year, the street set were all about colour. No matter whether it was a lack-thereof or a total wash out, it was primary colours, (subdued) neons and beiges which really stood out. Hats, clips and geometric sunglasses were just as abound, with the sidewalks awash with tip top accessories — a theme we saw extended to the runway as designers toile with branching out businesses and creating must-have It pieces for September.
Below, we’ve rounded up the best style moments from New York streets, because there’s nothing better than seeing the runway come to life.
