Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have announced they’re getting a divorce after seven years of marriage.
The former couple confirmed their split in a statement to Page Six, which read: “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Vergara first met Manganiello through her Modern Family co-star, Jesse Tyler Ferguson at the 2014 White House Correspondents Association dinner. At the time, Vergara was still engaged to her former partner, Nick Loeb. After Loeb and Vergara split, Manganiello reached out.
The couple tied the knot in Florida in 2015 and were married for seven years.
Vergara is currently in Italy, where she is celebrating her 51st birthday with a group of friends but her Magic Mike star husband is noticeably absent. The former couple’s last public sighting together was on the set of Manganiello’s new film Nonnas, in June.
