If there’s one thing that bonds Australians and Los Angeles natives, it’s an obsession with looking sun-kissed year round.

Thankfully, neither LA or Australian locals have to ruin their skin (or potentially threaten their health) by laying out in the sun for hours trying to achieve said sun-kissed ends.

In fact, Australian homegrown heroes, Sol del Sur, have tended to the bronzed complexions of sun-chasers both here and on the American west coast to such success, the self-tanning brand has managed to secure screen time on Selling Sunset.

Selling Sunset cast members Nicole Young and Katy Johnson have both shared their love for the Australian brand’s range of deeply bronzed shades via their respective social media accounts.

“You guys know I love [having my tan be] super dark,” Young admitted in a Sol del Sur unboxing video. “It’s like you guys know me. You got me ‘medium dark’ and ‘extra dark’, which is perfect. You know exactly what I want.”

The Australian brand also sent the Selling Sunset cast member a variety of their tanning applicators, including the Sol del Sur Luxury Back Applicator ($19.95 from Sol del Sur), which Young was especially excited about, because it meant she didn’t have to enlist the help of her husband on tanning day — “Brandon you’re now off the hook”.

Sol del Sur Sold Out A Few Hours After Entering The US

But the reality stars aren’t the only notable names to rally around the Melbourne-made self-tan. It’s also found fans amongst a cohort of Australian and American influencers whose co-signing has resulted in upwards of $100,000 in sales across the United States.

Philadelphia-based fashion influencer Meeghan Mullin told her followers that after a lifetime of test-driving self-tanners, Sol del Sur’s tanning mousse was the best she’d ever used. Subsequently, the brand sold out in just a few short hours.

“It doesn’t smell at all, does not transfer, it’s not sticky,” she gushed in the video. “It also just gives you the most natural, beautiful, brown, bronzy glow.”

“You know those people that you know that have that natural, olive skin tone? This is what [Sol del Sur] makes you look like. I’m not kidding you,” she continued. “I can also put this on, get dressed and go out, and feel totally fine and not gross. Just trust me, trust me on this.”

“We were thrilled by the response and worked around the clock to restock quickly,” said Chloe McCarthy, Co-Founder of Sol del Sur. “Meeghan’s reach was vast and loyal, opening up a whole new market for us. We’re now receiving orders from 45 out of the 50 states in America.”

A growing network of American influencers have reached out to the brand wanting to work with them following the success of their collaboration with Mullin, which no doubt means the brand will continue to build even further.
