The GHD Duet Blowdry Brush Is The Key To Effortless French Girl Bangs

An honest review of the most talked about hair styling tool.

Like many others, my morning routine has been completely revolutionised by the invention of the blowdry brush.

The time spent wrangling my hair around different shaped brushes and heat tools has not only been halved but made all the more effortless with just one hair tool.

The GHD Duet Blowdry Brush is one of the newest and most-talked about blowdry brushes on the market, claiming to take your hair from wet to dry with no heat damage and three times more volume.

As someone who’s recently ventured into fringe territory, volume has become integral for getting some bounce onto my bangs—but even my beloved blowdry brushes haven’t been able to compete with the traditional round brush and hairdryer combo. Could the GHD Duet could really hold the key to the effortless French girl bangs I was after?

Keep reading to find out.

The GHD Duet 2-in-1 Review

After towel-drying my hair, I added a small amount of GHD Volume Forever Blow Dry Cream to my hair while it was still damp before starting with the tool.

The first thing I noticed about the GHD Duet was how quiet it is compared to other blowdry brushes (I later learnt that this was because the tool is equipped with ‘conversation-friendly sound levels’), which was appreciated by my still-sleeping partner as I styled my hair in our very tiny shared flat.

I started with my lower layers of hair before making my way around to the pieces at the front and my bangs. While the tool is heavier than other blowdry brushes I have used, its easy to manoeuvre and I found that it doesn’t require much movement to achieve the look I wanted.

I simply used it as an ordinary brush, moving down my hair and flicking a little once I reached the ends.

When it comes to my bangs, I like them to look a little messy and ‘undone’ and this was surprisingly easy to achieve with the blowdry brush.

I simply replicated the steps I do with an ordinary round brush, where I blow dry them back, to the sides and then finally forwards around the brush.

The entire process took me less than 20 minutes, which compared to my usual 40, is very impressive.

Is The GHD Duet Blowdry Brush Worth It?

At a price of A$595, the GHD Duet Blowdry brush is obviously an investment—but one that I’d argue is worth it.

The tool definitely resulted in much more voluminous and shiny hair without me having to try very hard at all—something I certainly appreciate when I’m trying to get out the door in the morning.

I can also tell that it would be easy to achieve a more glam 90s blowout look for nights out.

Plus, I love the fact that the brush uses Air-Heat Xchanger technology to prevent heat damage and temperature sensors that prevent it from getting too hot and damaging your hair.

It looks like I’m finally going to be putting my round brushes away for good.
